They are separated by a sashing of on point squares which also vary in size. There is a pieced border which consists of more on point squares and flying geese. No paper patterns or specialty rulers are needed. Linda wrote the pattern as a block of the month quilt, so, the instructions are clear and concise for a section of the quilt at a time. This makes this beautiful quilt more manageable and easier to accomplish. Finished size is 100" x 100".
